Dear Senator Schumer, Senator Clinton and Cong. Tim Bishop,
If President Bush feels that he acted correctly concerning invading Iraq, then he must accept the return of those who went to their death on orders by him to be televised and not hidden from the American public.
If one feels they had the moral clarity that they acted correctly, then they must deal with any of the ramifications that will come after the initial action. Oh, that is right, we are talking about Bush who has no morals at all. And as far as dealing with any ramifications, he just shirks his responsibility on that too. Some
Commander in Chief we have there. Did he act correctly? No, he did not. He lied to get us there and these men shed their blood as a result of those lies.
Quite frankly, what I feel should happen is that with every coffin being unloaded off a plane a break in normal commercial programming should occur. So that Americans can see every coffin of these brave soldiers that gave of their lives for Bush’s lies.
Their deaths should NOT be hidden from Americans as Bush hid the day those terrorists attacked us. Perhaps, they will realize what was done in their name. I also feel
that as each death occurs, to any of our soldiers as we have seen happening on a daily basis that should be front- page news and broadcast as well.
This president who flew onto a naval carrier using our troops stating that the end of major conflict has just slapped each and every one of our soldiers by dictating this news blackout. The uniform he wore, should have been ripped off of his body since he had no moral authority
to wear it.
These brave soldiers gave their blood, in their death for the American people. So what if it happens to hurt Bush’s poll numbers?
Stand up for our soldiers and speak out on this issue. Those soldiers died for you as well.
Sincerely,
Mary MacElveen
