Congressman Puerile….
J.G. Schwam - June 14, 2005
I find myself growing weary of simply calling Congressman like Sensenbrenner arrogant. In the face of his utterly contemptuous conduct and disdain for the rule of law, to simply call him arrogant seems weak. Sensenbrenner’s goal seems to be little short of complete extirpation of the rules of the institution that pays his salary provides and him with the opportunity to self exceed his already over inflated ego with his impertinent self exaltations at the expense of decency, not to mention the rules under which he swore to conduct himself when he took the office he shamefully still holds.
It is clear that this fustian, bombast seeks the addition of the redefinition of arrogance to his already ignominious legacy. His colleagues on the right side of the House aisle seem to be happily complicit in helping achieve this goal. Not one has come out in excoriation of his wanton conduct to their already inglorious legacy of decency and bipartisanship, not one.
Sensenbrenner’s magniloquent rant prior to his egoistic, highly irregular gaveling to a close the Judiciary Committee hearing convened by his Democratic colleague John Conyers, is testament to the overbearing swagger of this pedagogic fanfaron.
His impertinence and implicit disdain for the rule of law and the constitutional definitions of governmental decency for all, shames us all. It shames our nation and besmirches the reputation of the U.S. Congress and the entire United States of America on the global stage. I have said before that the goal for the future government of these United States his ilk desires is oligarchy. With roll models like Sensenbrenner those that seek to head this vision of the United States of Oligarchs had better find a better roll model than Sensenbrenner. His puerile, I’ll take my gavel and go home conduct will ultimately prove no match for those of use that work and live in the though, no nonsense world of the real America.
